Ottery St Mary AFC beat Ipplepen Athletic 2-1.
The Otters completed the double over the league's bottom side with a more dominant performance than the scoreline might suggest.
They fell behind early when Mason Joint's free-kick deflected off the wall, leaving Tom Seymour helpless in goal.
Despite some misplaced passes, Ottery equalised before half-time with Charlie Norris converting at the far post.
After the break, the home side maintained greater possession and forced the visitors into desperate defending.
The visiting goalkeeper made several good saves to keep Ipplepen in contention, but Sam Pyne eventually netted the winner on 70 minutes, following in on a Ferenc Bodor shot.
The Otters had to work hard to see the game out.
Lewis Wilson, making his home debut, was awarded Man of the Match.
Manager Riki Pitter said: "The win provides breathing space between us and the lower half of the league.
"We are now only twelve points behind our total for the whole of last season and I am really pleased with the progression we are showing in a tough league."
The win puts Ottery St Mary in a strong position in the league, with momentum on their side.
