Sidmouth Town have climbed to the top of the South West Peninsula League East.
The team, known as the Vikings, secured a 3-0 home win over Elburton Villa, putting them ahead of Cullompton Rangers, who dropped points at home, on goal difference.
Sidmouth also have three games in hand over the Rangers.
The Vikings took the lead in the 15th minute when Craig Veal scored after a pass from Louis Jagger Cane.
Shortly after, goalkeeper Elliot Driver suffered a thumb injury, and Veal stepped in as a replacement.
Despite Elburton's attempts to capitalise on the situation, Veal managed to fend off numerous attacks.
In the second half, Sidmouth remained defensively strong while looking for a second goal.
The goal came when Louis Spalding combined with Nathan Cooper, allowing Jagger Cane to score with his weaker foot.
Five minutes later, Cooper assisted Spalding, who scored the third goal after evading a defender.
Veal was named Man of the Match for his dual roles during the game.
The Vikings' victory puts them at the top of the league, with more matches remaining to potentially extend their lead.
