The Dartmoor League team triumphed in a closely contested Claret Jug competition.

The annual event saw five teams—Palairet, Dartmoor League, Emerton Court, B Team, and the Captain's team—compete in a betterball Stableford format to determine the top team of the year.

The contest was closely fought, with four teams separated by just four points.

In the end, the Dartmoor League team, led by Jim Anderton, emerged victorious.

This win adds to their recent promotion in the Dartmoor League itself.

Jim, receiving the Claret Jug from club captain Chris Grubb, praised his team for an "outstanding year" with "great commitment throughout."

In other news, the Sidmouth Jewellers Friday Stableford competition was won by Paul Renken with 38 points.

Andy Griffiths secured second place on countback from Josh Bess, both having posted 37 points.

Sidmouth seniors recently played against Downes Crediton, with the match starting off tough for Sidmouth.

Phil Spencer and Rob Owen faced a strong opposition, losing 4 holes out of 5 from the 4th and eventually finishing 5 & 4.

However, things improved as Mark McGoogan and Steve Scott played exceptionally well, winning by 7/6.

Jonty Clews and Fred Preece, who have maintained an unbeaten record all year, kept up the pressure to win 3 & 2.

Jim Metcalf and Vernon Ruffle also secured a win, with Vernon dominating the front nine to win 5 holes, resulting in a 6 & 5 victory.

Adrian Hack and David Bromage continued the run of victories, not losing a single hole and finishing 7 & 6.

David also won Sidmouth's 'nearest the pin' with a birdie on the 12th.

The final group, Graham Lanceley and James Scrimshaw saw James playing his best front nine ever, leading to an 8 & 7 victory.

The final score was Sidmouth 5, Crediton 1.

For the second time in the week, Sidmouth welcomed a senior team, this time from Libbaton.

Phil Spencer was the match day captain, supported by James Scrimshaw.

Despite a poor start, James rallied with some impressive play, securing a 1-up victory.

Ian Philips and Sandy Simpson also won their match, despite being two down initially.

They won seven holes in a row to finish 7 & 6.

Hugh Dorliac and Roger Bawden had a closer match, but secured a 3 & 1 victory.

However, not all matches went Sidmouth's way.

Jonty Clews, playing his last match before retiring, lost alongside Adrian Hack.

Martyn Cross and Graham Lanceley, as well as John Randall and Mike Travers, also lost their matches, resulting in an overall draw of 3-all.

In the Upper Crust Stableford on Monday, Mike Gosling won Division 1 with 39 points.

Neil Holland took second place on countback from Terry Pares, both on 37 points.

Neil Hodge won Division 2 with 37 points.

Seniors' prize went to Terry Pares.
