Heavy mist retreated on Dartmoor, revealing ideal conditions for four Sidmouth Running Club members participating in the 11 Tors Of Dartmoor Challenge on Saturday.

The event, organised by Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team Tavistock, was aimed at raising urgently required funds.

The energetic quartet - Mark Norton, Alice Gill, Janice Ransom, and Hannah Maslen - basked in the sun and warm wind while relishing the endurance test.

Across the country, 13 other Mighty Greens were spread across eight parkrun events.

Seaton parkrun hosted Colin Ryan, Christine Farnham, and Julia Haddrell.

Colin finished a mere four seconds shy of his personal best with a time of 21.12.

Meanwhile, Don and Debbie Cawthera ventured to Nant y Pandy parkrun, on Anglesey.

Debbie was lucky enough to spot a red squirrel in the park's wildlife-laden woodland.

Amid torrential thunderstorms, Clive Gilbert braved Newent parkrun in the Forest of Dean, finishing in 10th place out of 37 runners.

Sunday's affair saw Emma Grainger participate in Teignbridge Trotters Ladies 10k, a favourite event of Emma’s.

Not only do the scenic, undulating rural lanes offer an appealing route, but each finisher is rewarded with a unique keepsake.

Setting off from Ipplepen Cricket Club, Emma traversed through the hamlets of Ogwell and Denbury, crossing the finish line in 1.19.52.

Meanwhile, at the Trust 10k event held at the scenic Golden Cap in Dorset, Louise Dalton, Mark Andow, and Stuart Moul wove through challenging terrains and muddy paths.

The National Trust has been organising these free events to inspire runners to embrace nature and prioritize enjoyment over competition.

Conquering steep climbs, the Mighty Greens paused at the summit to soak up the picturesque views.
