In a ground-breaking moment, the Sidmouth Ladies President's team made it to the semi-final of the Devon County Ladies Golf President's league for the first time.

The team, comprising Sheila Faulkner, Maria Clapp, Mandy Furniss, and Marie Timms, outperformed Bigbury at Churston, securing their semi-final place.

The match was held at Ilfracombe on September 9.

During the fierce semi-final, all matches were closely contested under the sunny, yet windy conditions.

Unfortunately, the team fell short, losing to Okehampton which secured the four matches required to reach the final.

However, the Sidmouth team was honoured with the runner-up trophy.

Other team members play with a 21.4 handicap, making the accomplishment more impressive.

A big thanks was given to the ardent supporters present on the day: Heather Cowan Ladies Captain, Liz Chance, and Peter O’Brien.

Despite the result, this achievement has made an indelible mark in Sidmouth's history.
