Sidmouth's Palairet Cup team narrowly lost to Stover this Sunday, with a final score of 2 matches to 3, in a heartbreaking last-hole failure.
After their victory over Sidmouth, Stover continued to the final, where they fell to Dawlish Warren, who then happily accepted the trophy.
Sidmouth Seniors had happier tales to tell after their encounter with Cricket St Thomas on a damp and misty Thursday afternoon.
Pairs Jonty Clews and Fred Preece, Mike Davis and Adam Lloyd, and Ian Phillips and Sandy Simpson all secured wins.
Adrian White and Roger Bawden also clinched a win, even after an unsettling hole-in-one by Cricket's Mark Cording.
Adrian Hack won the Nearest the Pin prize on the 12th hole.
Mike Travers and Graham Lanceley faced off against low handicap players, yet swept the field with 5 birdies from Mike, concluding in a total win of 5 to 1 for Sidmouth.
Victories also abounded in the Sidmouth Jewellers Friday Stableford.
Adrian Baldwin topped the leaderboard with 39 points, which led to two handicap reductions over the weekend.
Ian Watson and Martyn Cross followed with 38 and 37 points respectively.
As for the Northcotts Classic on Saturday, Geri Whitrow and Mo Kendall of the ladies' team displayed superb form, securing an impressive 47 points.
Runners-up Adrian Baldwin and his partner tallied 45 points, barely maintaining a lead over John Nicholle and Andy Truscott who scored 44 points.
The Upper Crust Monday Stableford saw Jashan Patidar and Paul Murphy take home the honours for Divisions 1 and 2 respectively, with Patidar scoring 41 and Murphy a commendable 43.
Lastly, the B Team dominated Dawlish Warren at a home match, winning 5 out of 6 games.
The initial sea mist thankfully cleared to pave the way for an excellent day, both in terms of weather and scores.
This success added to the team's previous win against Dawlish, rounding off a successful time for Sidmouth's golfers.
