On Monday, Sidbury Cricket Club's Millfield ground welcomed visiting tourists, Chipping Campden.

The week is chock-full of action as there were nets last Tuesday, open to eager players.

On Thursday, June 19, the team will travel to Upottery for an evening East Devon Bash fixture, and a top-of-the-table clash awaits them in Exeter at Winslade Park on Saturday.

Kilmington Kestrels (188/4) beat Sidbury Moles (162/6) by 26 runs.

Sidbury's second T20 league game on Wednesday took them to Kilmington to face Bash favourites, the Kestrels, with Kilmington Kestrels securing a win by 26 runs.

Kilmington won the toss and elected to bat, and they batted well.

Simon Rowe was the standout bowler for Sidbury, adeptly keeping the opposing batsmen in check.

The supporting effort of Soren Hall and Steve Howe, the latter notably demanded the ball for the last over and got his man with a brave slower ball, added depth to the Sidbury bowling.

Despite the 188-run target appearing daunting, the Moles set a steady pace, and with a quick wicket and fast outfield, it could have just been possible.

Sidbury's Rowe and Damien Armes formed an unbeaten partnership of 83 but unfortunately, it wasn't quite enough.

Despite the loss, Rowe's 49 not out with a strike rate of 233 was certainly noteworthy.

The Moles face Upottery Swingers this Thursday, with a feeling in the camp that a first win is just up the Otter.

In another match, Sidbury secured a clear win against Whimple IIs by 74 runs.

The team saw an ever-changing roster owing to the holiday-taking habits of the players.

No sooner has leg-break bowler Isaac touched down after a fortnight on the Amalfi Coast than young top-order batsman Oscar is jetting off for a short break on the Iberian Peninsula.

However, out of this, several players proved their mettle.

Only Sam Sanders could be said to have locked down his spot in the order - 11 - whilst the other ten were largely interchangeable.

As many as six of Sidbury's batsmen reached double figures, with Damien Armes contributing a considerable 45 runs.

Simon Rowe once again found himself in the spotlight, promoted to open alongside regular Ed Chester.

The pair saw off most of the useful opening bowlers' spells before Chester was clean-bowled.

Josh Reed soon perished the same way as the excellent S Hathaway (2 for 20) before Pagets A & O and Lloyd Colin, over from Zimbabwe, offered up middling effort.

Rowe held the innings together with 43 runs before being given out a LBW, by umpire Chris Fitzhenry.

Tottering somewhat 131-6, Armes was joined by Jon Whitfield and this pair steadied things before accelerating to the holy grail of 200.

Armes fell to the penultimate ball of the innings, leaving Steve Howe, last seen as a number three, to play just one ball as a number nine.

Despite the seemingly light total, Sidbury pulled back from a potentially losing position towards a win.

Players like Lloyd Colin, who snagged a quick catch, and Rowe who tightened things up on the field, were instrumental in this turnaround.

In a dramatic twist, Sanders secured his place at the top of the entire Devon League for strike rate, average and economy by administering the coup de grace with his only ball.

With a series of strong performances, the team believes a first win is within reach.

Sidbury's zeal for the game and the sporting spirit displayed promise of some thrilling matches in the week ahead.

The season is in full swing, and amidst the tumbling wickets and soaring sixes, undoubtedly, Sidbury's resilience and passion for the sport will reign supreme.
