Tipton St John's cricket team had a successful tour in Cornwall last weekend, winning all three matches played.
The team's first game was at Falmouth last Friday, where players John Buckland, Matt Brewster, and Charles O’Higginsall scored good runs as Tipton set Sea View Old Boys a total of 134-6 to chase.
Some good catches and fielding helped restrict Sea View and dismiss them for 112 with both David James and Brewster claiming 3 wickets each.
On Saturday, the team were at Nancledra, in what seemed an easy victory, with John Buckland leading by scoring 74.
He was well supported by Dave Jessop with 26, Davids Alford with 21 and Thayre with 20, helping Tipton set a total of 206-6.
Despite Nancledra's Tim Poole's stellar performance, Phil Wright and David Birch assisted in securing a 33-run victory.
Mount Ambrose in Redruth brought a sterner test on Sunday.
Matt Brewster and Dave Thayre gave a solid start, but it was Sam Rose from Ottery who secured an unbeaten 100 off just 56 balls.
John Buckland chimed with a respectable 45, and Tipton posted a challenging 239-8.
David Birch's early advantage cemented the position,
Birch took 3-15 off 8 overs, while Buckland took 2-8, confining Mount Ambrose to a short run at 155-9 and securing a clean sweep for Tipton St John.
The successful tour proves that Tipton St John's team is a force to be reckoned with, leaving fans anticipating their next game.
