Tipton St John Cricket Club has been invited to host a cricket match between The Lord’s Taverners and a Lords and Commons XI.
It will take place on Saturday, May 4.
This is the first event marking the club’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
The club is looking forward to welcoming the Lord’s Taverners.
It is one of the country’s leading cricket charities which is dedicated to improving healthy lifestyles, confidence and self-esteem, and social inclusion especially among disadvantaged and disabled young people.
Their teams include a mix of former professional and celebrity cricketers, and here they will face a team made up of present and former members of the Houses of Lords and Commons.
They will also be playing each other at Sidmouth the following day.
The 20 over a side match starts at 2.30pm at Tipton St John Playing Field.
Entrance is free but donations will be very welcome and will support the planned redevelopment of the playing field pavilion and the replacement of the cricket club’s aged machinery.
The teams will bring signed bats and shirts which will be raffled during the afternoon.
Please bring picnic blankets and outdoor chairs because seating at the ground is limited.
Details of the two teams are still being finalised but there will be regular updates on the club’s website and Facebook page.
