Every year, Sidmouth play against Lyme Regis and Cricket St. Thomas golf clubs in a triangular competition that culminates in each eight-man team competing at Sidmouth.
Due to unprecedented weather conditions, the Sidmouth leg had been cancelled twice; eventually being played on Wednesday 10 April.
Unfortunately the weather and the course condition on the day were not great, but great credit to the ground staff whose hard work enabled us to play.
After being well behind after the first two legs and with all players' stableford scores counting to create an accumulative total for each team, the Sidmouth team fought back.
On the day, Len Wright was the star and Sidmouth ran out winners by 43 pts over the third team (Cricket St Thomas - CST).
However, as CST had amassed such a large lead over the previous two legs they retained the trophy, followed by Lyme and Regis and then Sidmouth.
A fun but soggy day of golf, finished off by Jake's excellent fish and chips.
On Saturday, the annual running of the Famous Easterbrooks team event took place, with the course looking better and better.
After taking the honours in the Sidmouth Jewellers sponsored Friday Stableford the previous day, Phil Grover and Ronnie Moore this time with partner Richard Powell won again with 76 points.
They beat Anthony Griffiths, Nick Gingell and Marc Jenkins on countback, having achieved the same score.
James Pickard, Fionn Wardrop and Archie Griffiths came third with 74.
This week's Upper Crust Monday Stableford had Moray Bosence winning Div 1 with a modest 34 points from Archie Griffiths 33 and Mike Anderton 33.
Div 2 winners were Chris Grubb, Dave Atkinson and James Scrimshaw.
