And it still rains - The Seniors Opening competition got washed out on Monday, but the dinner went ahead anyway.
They enjoyed a delicious three course meal and this year's seniors captain, Mike Davis welcomed them all.
He had hoped the weather would improve soon to get the busy season of senior matches underway.
The first medal of the season, sponsored by Easterbrook Eaton Accountants, did survive and was played on Sunday albeit in very damp conditions.
This meant very average scoring despite the miracles the green staff had done during the week in cutting the greens and fairways on the two dry days.
The Division 1 medal was won by Saj Patidar on 66 with Ian Jones taking Division 2 with the same score.
And congratulations must go to John Cowan, who won the rained-affected J Lee Winter Knockout Cup.
He prevailed on the 17th in a tight match against Jash Patidar, who had only won his semi-final the day before against Simon Knowles.
