With the continued rain reducing the opportunities to get out on the course at Sidmouth Golf Club in recent weeks, it was pleasing for some early morning players to compete for the monthly Peter Grant-Bailey Trophy.
Steve Dymond took the honours and the trophy with a solid 39 points, receiving the trophy from incoming seniors captain Mike Davis.
At the club AGM on Friday, the incoming club captain Chris Grubb received his club jacket from outgoing captain John Spiller-Jones, who had earlier thanked members for their generosity during his year of office in helping to raise over £9,000 for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust and a further £5,500 for club projects.
The charity at Sidmouth GC also extended to a recent cheque presentation to the Sidvale Scouts, as part of the club taking part in the Rotary Swimathon, Marian Andrews representing the golfers in the pool.
