South African all-rounder Andile Mogakane has signed for Sidmouth CC ahead of the new season in the Tolchards Devon Cricket League.
Mogakane, 24, was a tremendous prospect as a youngster in his home country, starring for South Africa Under-19s and the SA Emerging Players squad. He has previously played in the UK with Stokesley CC in the North Yorkshire and South Durham League.
He arrives at Fortfield after a recommendation from Bryce Parsons, the South African star at Sidmouth last summer. Parsons was superb for Sidmouth in 2023 and it was a big blow when he left with five games to go. A similar impact from Mogakane could be very exciting.
Sidmouth begin their season on May 4 with a visit from Exeter and then travel to Sandford on the second weekend. One early date for the cricket diary is the East Devon derby, when Sidmouth journey to Exmouth on June 8.
