During the continued wet weather, the only golf available at Sidmouth, when the course has been shut, has been the practice range up the first hole.
It has been popular with golfers eager to get their weekly fix, but also with a group of crows who have been fascinated by the shiny yellow range balls. So much so that they have 'stolen' over 1,000 in recent weeks and flown off with them.
If any Sidmouth residents find these special 'eggs' dropped in their garden and are passing the golf club, all returns would be gratefully received by the pro to replenish his dwindling stock.
The last few spaces are up for grabs in the Sidmouth Golf Academy, which includes ten sessions of golf tuition in small groups with the club’s PGA professional Duncan Arnold. Learn the basics and grow a lifelong love of the game. Full details on the Sidmouth GC Facebook page.
