Ottery St Mary AFC celebrated a winning weekend with some fantastic results across the board, starting with the men’s first team securing a 3-2 victory at Plymstock United in the Devon Football League.
Ferenc Bodor, Jake Blackmore and Seb Copp scored the goals for the Otters, who included the full blend of youth and experience. Joint first-team manager, Riki Pitter, emerged from the bench to add his 38 years of football experience to a side that included teenagers Jack Carpenter and Sam Gleeson.
It was a superb demonstration of the positive pathway that exists at Washbrook Meadows and a super Saturday included further wins for the men’s reserves, the U16s, U14s and U11s.
The sparkling form continued into the Sunday, with Ottery Women defeating Alphington 3-1 in the DWFL and the U13 girls completed the success story by winning 3-0 at Broadclyst to stay second in the league.
