It was a well-earned break from the action for Sidmouth Chiefs on the weekend but still plenty of rugby activity to get Blackmore buzzing.
Sidmouth Vets marched to an entertaining 52-24 victory over Topsham, while at the other end of the experience scale, the Colts defeated their Newton Abbot counterparts 31-12. Dan Retter won Player of the Match for the Vets and Keiran Docherty was the top Colt.
Moving down the age brackets, Sidmouth U13s enjoyed an excellent victory over Exeter Saracens, scoring four tries in a thrilling attacking display that saw six different try scorers sharing around the glory.
Sarries took an early lead but the youngsters in Sidmouth green responded in emphatic fashion, despite being the smaller side physically. The fearless tackling and commitment of the whole squad, alongside pace and precision in their play, ensured a final score of 14 tries to 4 in Sidmouth’s favour.
