A very cold and frosty couple of Wednesdays have not deterred a good field of ladies from entering competitions at Sidmouth Golf Club. Thermal layers and woolly hats were definitely the order of the day.
The fourth round of the Rose Bowl and Basket competition was played and coming first was Gerri Whitrow with 34 points, Catherine Walden was a close second with 33 and Gill Johnson came in third place with 31 points. Two more rounds to be played to discover who the overall winners will be. Sheila Faulkner managed a 'two' on the 12th hole.
The golfers then played a Joker Stableford where a hole on the front and back nine holes had to be chosen for a double score before play commenced, which rather tempted fate for some players but others obviously chose wisely and had some fabulous scores, especially given the chilly conditions.
Coming first with a great score of 44 points was Mo Borer, Mo Kendall came second with another great score of 41 and third place went to Yvonne Anning with a very respectable 38. Two '2s' were scored by Marian Andrews on 4th and Maria Clapp on 14th.
