On the women’s side of Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club, the second team had a difficult away fixture at Taunton Vale 3, with the home club claiming an emphatic victory, 7-2.
But, both the thirds and fourths fared better with the third team travelling to take on Chard 2 and claiming the points with a 1-2 win, while the fourth team won by the same margin in their home game against Exeter and Culm Vale Hornets 2, with a final score of 1-0.
On the men’s side of the club, both the firsts and seconds had home games. The firsts beat Mid Somerset 1, 3-2 but in the following fixture, the second team lost 0-1 against West Dorset 1.
There is a possibility of some games this weekend but the majority of the players will now have to wait until the new year before taking to the hockey pitch again.
