Sidmouth RFC U14s hosted Tiverton RFC at the Blackmore Ground, marking the first round of the U14s Devon Cup.
By half-time, Sidmouth narrowly led 7-5 with a try a from Kallum Rattenbury and a conversion from Sean Cload. Tiverton started the second half stronger, with 2 quick tries and a conversion for 7-17, leaving Sidmouth with only 10 minutes to turn the game around.
Sidmouth’s character was clear to see, with determination and character they pulled a try back through Will Creek. Then with seconds remaining in the closing moments of the game Seb Nation powered through to level the match, leaving a rock steady Sean Cload to convert and win the match for Sidmouth 19-17.
The match was a thrilling and closely fought contest, showcasing the sportsmanship and dedication of both teams, as a result of this victory Sidmouth RFC U14s will advance to the second round, where they will face Brixham RFC on the first weekend of December.
