Ottery St Mary and Lympstone Youth under 13s football teams have endured some tough tests in the early weeks of this season but both clubs can be proud of their weekend performance.
Before Saturday, the young Otters and Lympstone had lost all their matches, some of them by double figure scores, but this weekend was a display of true sporting spirit.
The two teams played each other and fought out a thoroughly entertaining 2-2 draw, giving both clubs their first point of the season. The players showed great determination and put on a tremendous show, and are a credit to their teams and their coaches.
Youth football in East Devon is clearly in a good place, as Otter Under-11 girls played their first ever game, and thanks to Zoe Legg for working hard to get this team together and the parents for supporting their girls.
