Sunday saw Sidmouth RFC U14s travel to Exeter Saracens for their first game of the 2023/24 season, and excitement levels were high for the match and the season ahead.
The match was competitive and played with great attitude and commitment from both teams. There were excellent performances all over the pitch and Sidmouth looked like a team who have grown in stature and spirit over the summer.
The end of the first half saw Sidmouth leading 12 – 0 with tries from Will Creek and Theo Godden-Jones and a conversion from Sean Cload.
Two second half tries and a conversion for Saracens with two Sidmouth tries from Theo Godden-Jones and Casper Shields, both converted by Ewan Kirk, meant a final score of 26-12 to Sidmouth.
It was a great start to the Under 14s campaign and the team and coaches are looking forward to the challenges ahead.
