The new season continues to be a traditional rollercoaster for Ottery St Mary in the Devon Women’s League, as they fought bravely before going down to a 2-1 defeat at Appledore.
Georgia Chapman had given the Otters an early lead but their North Devon hosts battled back to take maximum points. Ottery return to action with a game against Hemyock Women and will be harnessing the positives vibes of their superb 5-0 victory at Alphington earlier this month.
On that happy day in the sun, the influential Kaitlyn Carthew grabbed a brace and there were further goals from Alicia Martin, Flora O’Sullivan and Jasmine Case.
The U15 girls at Washbrook Meadows are looking for players in Years 9 and 10 to join the next generation of Ottery talent. No experience needed, just a love of football and desire to play the game. Contact Craig Allen on csallen1969@gmail.com
