Sidmouth Bowls Club has closed down for the outdoor season, although one final deluge meant a touring team from Weston-super-Mare were instead treated to the fun of a quiz, raffle and the bar before heading out to a local pub, writes Carol Smith.
Then came our final outdoor drive for the season, with the theme being ‘Colourful Hats’ and the bowls a pretty complicated drive. The drive format was worked out by our President John Mason and run by competition Secretary David Timms.
The drive winners were Lynn Pike, David Fishlock and Mike Borst, with a plus score of 17 (I think). The most colourful hat winner was Lynn Pike. Then came our morning session of the indoor opening drive, which was won by Pat Poole, Sheila Faulkner and John Mason.
And now we look forward to the fun of an indoor bowls season.
