Russell Bess won the Sidmouth Jewellers Friday Stableford at Sidmouth Golf Club with a superb 46 points, a mesmerising performance for any golfer and a score that most will never achieve, writes Hugh Dorliac.
Russell was well ahead of second-placed Martin Harris on 41 and Simon Emerson on 38 in third on countback.
The Upper Crust sponsored Monday stableford had Charlie Williams setting the pace with a fabulous 45, another great score in softer conditions. Messrs Pepperell and Moore took the minor places with 41 points apiece.
And finally, the annual Veterans Cup also played on Monday saw Chris Long win the silverware on countback from Adrian White, both having scored an excellent net 61. Gareth Stephens just missed out on his 4 under par effort of 62.
Some great golf on the Sidmouth course, now all they need is for the sun to start shining again.
