Ottery St Mary moved up to third in C Division East of the Tolchards Devon Cricket League, with a powerful six-wicket win at Uplyme & Lyme Regis.
A super spell from Joe Birch saw him take four wickets in nine overs, as Ottery limited their hosts to a total of 181-6, despite good knocks from Tyler Wellman (52) and Sam Farrow (47).
Keith Moody let the Ottery response with an outstanding unbeaten 102, supported by a 33 from fellow opener and captain Alex Clements. Ottery reached their target with more than five overs to spare.
Sidmouth 2nds suffered a painful 10-wicket loss to North Devon 2nds in the same division, while the Sidmouth first XI were 23-0 when their Premier League trip to Heathcoat was abandoned due to the poor weather. Sidmouth host leaders Sandford on Saturday and a massive opportunity to open up the title race in the top tier.
