Exeter Chiefs have paid tribute to Club President Roger Pugsley, who has sadly passed away at the age of 84. A life member of the Chiefs, Roger joined the club in the 1950s and played for every Exeter team in his career.
Club chief executive and chairman, Tony Rowe CBE, told the club website: "Everyone associated with Exeter Rugby Club send their deepest sympathies to the family of Roger, particularly his wife, Betty and children, Rob, Ian and Sarah.
"Roger epitomised everything that is good and great about our wonderful club. For years he has served Exeter Rugby Club with an unwavering passion and dedication which, I know, he was going to do even more in his role as president.
"Sadly, we have lost one of the great supporters and stalwarts of our club. He will be fondly remembered for all of his magnificent efforts over the years, whilst deeply missed from match-days here at Sandy Park."
