Sidmouth ladies were lucky to play in dry conditions with the odd shower last Wednesday and the Dodd Salver stroke play competition saw some great under par scores.
Maria Clapp finished first with a fantastic nett 64 closely, followed by Angela Coles with 65, who also won the putting competition. Sharon O’Brien scored a ‘2’ on the 12th hole.
In the ladies Ping competition, the winners with a great score of 45 points were Liz Chance and Lady Captain Susan Hackett. Runners-up were Maria Clapp and Penny Lyne with 42 points.
The Mavis Vanstone Rose Bowl competition was played in very humid conditions and a good field of ladies took part, and the winner with a good score of 40 points was Vanessa Ireson. Sheila Tallon took second place, on countback, with 39 points. Two ‘2s’ were recorded on the day, by Sheila Faulkner on the 11th and Debbie Snelgrove on the 4th hole.
