It was ‘touch and go’ with the weather after the storms to see if the golf course would be open for the Ladies planned charity coffee morning on May 10, with visitors playing golf, as well as partaking of the goodies.
Thankfully, good fortune was on our side and over £550 was made from selling coffee and cakes, a raffle and golf entries.
Visitors and members alike enjoyed the cakes and thanks to David, our caterer, for providing the coffee and committee members for manning the cake stall and raffle.
Proceeds will go in the pot for the Captains’ chosen charity this year - Devon Air Ambulance, which has two air ambulances flying.
The speed with which air ambulance doctors and paramedics can reach a patient, identify their time-critical needs and provide their specialist life-saving treatments and interventions to slow, halt or even reverse the effects of a life-threatening condition, is crucial in helping to achieve a successful outcome.
