Ottery St Mary Under-18s will face Barnstaple Town in the final of the Devon League Cup after an impressive 5-2 victory over Pinhoe Spartans.
Louis Stephen opened the scoring for the Otters and he then doubled the lead in a dominant start to the game, cleverly diverting a Jake Haggerty strike beyond the Pinhoe ‘keeper.
Victory was effectively sealed in spectacular fashion, as Haydon Simpson slammed a wonderful free-kick into the net from distance. It was a special strike and a goal that allowed Ottery to enjoy their semi-final surroundings.
Pinhoe did rally and scored twice against the run of play but Ottery always looked like they could crank through the gears at any time, which they did when Luke Paramore found an incisive pass for Oliver Bradley to make it 4-2. A top save from Russ Bracey protected the Ottery lead before a Paramore penalty completed the scoring.
