Sidmouth Town 2nds are on course for a mid-table finish in the Premier Division of the Devon & Exeter League.
The Vikings welcome Crediton United 2nds on the weekend and an evenly-matched contest started in tight fashion. Crediton broke the shackles with an opening goal on the half-hour, pouncing on a defensive lapse from the hosts.
Sidmouth responded brightly to hit the bar twice but remained behind at the break. The equaliser did arrive early in the second period, when Damien Lee Armes whipped over a superb cross for Jack Miller to score.
The game turned into an entertaining end-to-end battle, with both teams going all out for the win. Sidmouth thought they had sealed maximum points when Corey Rogers fed a pass wide for man of the match George Gelling to fire in a cross that was headed in by Scott Hughes, but Crediton sneaked a point with a stoppage time penalty.
