The young rugby stars from Sidmouth U16s have been celebrating European glory after winning the prestigious Ghent Festival in Belgium.
Sidmouth conceded just one try over five games played, dominating their qualifying group and then storming to victories in the semi-final and final.
In total, Sidmouth scored more than 30 tries and were comfortably the best team in the tournament, a brilliant achievement for the players and coaches – well done.
The Ghent Rugby Festival has now been running for 32 years in the Easter holidays and widely recognised as one of the best organised and most enjoyable rugby tours for young players.
As well as the rugby experience, the Sidmouth players were given the chance to spend time in the medieval city of Ghent, once the second largest city in Europe, making it a fantastic sporting and cultural tour for the next generation of rugby talent.
