Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club experienced no defeats against other clubs at the weekend and leading the way was the men’s second team, who had games on both Saturday and Sunday.
In their first outing, a home match against Mid Somerset 2, they recorded an impressive victory, winning 6-0. Then on Sunday, they travelled to take on Chard 2 in a rearranged fixture, and again claimed all the points with a 1-5 victory.
The men’s firsts and fourths did not have fixtures but on the women’s side of the club, the second team played Taunton Vale 3 at home and claimed a point with a 2-2 draw. The women’s third and fourth teams played each other in a high-scoring match which ended 4-4.
The only other fixture of the weekend was a friendly match between the women’s first team and the men’s thirds. Playing under mixed hockey rules, the game ended in a 3-2 victory for the men’s side.
