Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club ladies’ first team recorded another impressive win at the weekend when they travelled to Dorset, recording an excellent 6-1 victory at Weymouth.
The second team were also on their travels but in their case it was to Somerset where they took on Chard 1. On this occasion, it was the home side that held sway, winning 4-1.
Of the ladies’ teams, it was only the thirds who were playing at home, against Isca and Exeter University 7, but it was the visitors who achieved the win, 1-6. The fourth team development side travelled to Taw Valley 2 and claimed a 0-0 draw.
On the men’s side of the club, the first team had the long away trip to Minehead 1. Often a challenging game, the side came away with a draw, 2-2. The second team entertained visitors from the same club, when they took on Minehead 2, with the home side claiming the points with a 2-0 win. Also playing at home, the third team did not fare so well, losing 2-6 to Torbay 2.
The coming weekend will only see a limited number of fixtures played with some of the sides getting a mid-season break.
