Exeter City will be targeting three points at MK Dons this weekend to revitalise their hopes of making a push for the play-offs in Sky Bet League One.
The Dons are sitting just above the relegation zone, while the Grecians slipped to 13th, eight points outside the play-offs, following the weekend defeat at Portsmouth.
Gary Caldwell’s City had the mis-fortune of running into Pompey at a time of revival for the club. Under new manager John Mousinho, Portsmouth are looking like the real deal again, despite fan protests against owner Michael Eisner at Fratton Park.
Marlon Pack and Joe Morrell scored the second-half goals for Portsmouth on a day when Exeter struggled to find their normal attacking rhythm. Sam Nombe and Josh Key were both denied by home goalkeeper Matt Macey, while Jevani Brown also had an effort blocked before Pompey took control of the game.
