Exeter City’s Under-18s maintained their forward momentum with a goalless draw away at Portsmouth U18s in their latest fixture in the Youth Alliance South West division.
Despite dominating large periods of the second half, the Grecians had to settle for just a point, which has seen the Devon outfit keep hold of their top-half position.
The visitors started brightly, and tested the opposition's backline with their ability to play around the Hampshire side's press before Portsmouth came into the game.
But neither goalkeeper was beaten despite the opportunities falling in both penalty boxes, and, after half-time, Portsmouth switched tactics and sat a little deeper.
In the final 20 minutes, the hosts had to play the remaining time with 10-men due to an injury but there was no breakthrough. As a result, the away side took just a point back to Devon, but it also meant that they remain unbeaten now in four games across all competitions.
