Exeter City have appointed Gary Caldwell as the man to replace Matt Taylor, who recently left to take over as manager at Rotherham United.
Caldwell is a former Celtic and Scotland defender, and most recently worked as assistant manager at Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League.
Exeter City Club President Julian Tagg said: “Gary brings a great deal of experience to our club and we’re excited and optimistic for the future.”
Caldwell started life with the Grecians by earning an excellent 0-0 draw at Derby County on Tuesday night.
Down the road at Plymouth Argyle, the Pilgrims remain top of League One after a 2-2 draw at Bristol Rovers last weekend before coming from behind to beat Shrewsbury 2-1 in midweek
Argyle welcome Exeter for a mouth-watering Devon derby at Home Park on Monday night, with the Pilgrims looking to extend an incredible eight-match winning streak on their own patch.
