In a battle between two sides leading their respective league, the Under-18s of Ottery St Mary produced a stunning performance to outclass Taunton Town in an 8-1 victory on the road.
Oliver Bradley got the scoring underway with a clever chip shortly before half-time and the Otters then ran riot after the break.
The defensive platform provided by Reece Alexander, Haydon Simpson and Ewan Evans gave Ottery’s attacking machine the freedom to express their talents, starting with Leon Tootett scoring on the turn to make it 2-0.
Luke Paramore and Jay Tanner combined to set up Tootett for number three. Henry Woodward scored the next goal from distance before Tanner got on the score-sheet with another long-range effort.
A wonderful solo effort from Paramore made it 6-0. Taunton did grab a consolation but the Otters still had time for two more goals, Jake Haggerty scoring from distance and Bradley added number eight.
