Nicci Simpson, Founder of Devon Eco Boutique based in Ottery St Mary is announced as a winner in the UK wide Female Business Awards.
The Female Business Awards are now in their third year, and recognises the successes and achievements of female-led small businesses across the UK.
This year over 600 small businesses were nominated across 15 categories, of which Devon Eco Boutique was confirmed as the Winner in the Eco friendly business category.
The judging panel considers a wide variety of aspects of each nominee, including marketing and social media activity, client testimonials and reviews, as well as the owners’ passion and enthusiasm for their industry, clients and business.
This means that those making it through to the Finals have shown a high level of service, client satisfaction and expertise.
And to be announced as Winner is even more fantastic, and shows the impact that Nicci is having.
Nicci said: “More and more people are wanting to live in a more sustainable way and it's great we've been able to support them at all stages of this journey.
"In-store we have a large collection from small businesses that are kinder on the planet allowing people to shop consciously whilst supporting small independent businesses.
"I am over the moon that we have been recognised in the award that had entries from all over the UK. It's mind-blowing really. ”
Devon Eco Boutique is an eco conscious lifestyle store offering plastic free Homewares, everyday swap, refills, Preloved and gifts for the whole family. Supporting small businesses doesn't need to cost the earth.
The Awards ceremony was held at the Victoria & Albert Marriott Hotel in Manchester on the November 15 2024, with Finalists from across all categories in attendance, along with their supporters and guests.
Nicci SImpson continues: “We were sadly unable to attend the awards evening but you can feel the buzz it's created and despite not being able to make it we've been accepted wholeheartedly into this community”
Female Business Awards co-host Janine Friston (who also runs online and in-person networking groups with her business, the Female Business Network), said: “We are thrilled to confirm this year's award finalists and winners, who have clearly made a positive difference and impact to their clients and audience.
"Our vision with the Female Business Awards is to recognise and celebrate those female-led small businesses who are often forgotten about in other awards.
"Female business owners often set up and run their businesses around other responsibilities, such as younger children, and so desire and need the flexibility that running their own business can provide. Being able to showcase some of these amazing business owners is fantastic.”
"Nicci is looking to use this recognition as a springboard in her business, and hopes to reach new audiences and be able to support more people as a result."
