A Sidmouth church has received a grant to help train parents and expectant parents.
All Saints Church announced it has received funding from the Keith Owen Fund, administered by the Sidmouth Voluntary Services (SVA), to support its work with parents.
The funding will help the church deliver three different 'Time Out for Parents' courses, focusing on early years, primary, and teenage children.
Currently, an early-year positive parenting course is being held on Thursday mornings.
The course covers various topics, including boundaries, behaviour, and celebrating each child's individuality.
Interested participants can reach out via youth@sidvalley.org.uk.
The church will also be running Begin Well courses for expectant parents.
These courses provide a space for parents-to-be to discuss their hopes and fears about becoming parents.
The courses are held in the All Saints Old School Building and are open to everyone, regardless of faith.
Each course consists of six two-hour sessions led by experienced facilitators.
The sessions include group discussions, and practical tasks, and are designed to offer a warm, welcoming environment.
Participants will also receive an informative handbook, and the church provides car parking facilities and refreshments, including cake.
