A council-owned hub has been transformed with a youth-inspired makeover.
The Station Hub has been given a makeover, incorporating a "vibrant colour palette" chosen by the young people who frequently gather there.
The update aimed to refresh the main hall, the station master's office, and the waiting room, creating a "bright, welcoming, and fresh" atmosphere.
Young artists also contributed by adding their own geometric designs to the main hall.
The council extended special thanks to Abbotts DIY, which supplied materials at a discounted rate, allowing the renovation to be completed to the "highest standard".
Since the council resumed management of the Station Hub more than three years ago, it has focused on improving services and support for young people and families in Ottery.
One of its first moves was to sign a two-year contract with DYS Space to run a twice-weekly open-access youth club.
This contract has been renewed for another two years, demonstrating the council’s ongoing commitment to supporting Ottery’s youth.
The Station Hub is home to several other groups, including O6, which offers a free after-school drop-in service twice a week.
Guiding UK runs weekly sessions for Rainbows, Brownies, and Guides, while Action East Devon operates Headlight, providing peer-to-peer mental health support for young people.
Available for hire Monday to Friday during the day and at weekends, the Station Hub offers flexible accommodation for organisations, community groups, and commercial concerns.
