Sidmouth Hospice at Home is inviting residents to join their Tree of Light service.
The annual event, which has grown in popularity in recent years, will take place at Sidmouth Parish Church on Sunday, December 8, at 4.15pm.
It offers the community a chance to come together in remembrance and celebration of loved ones who have passed away.
The service includes a candle-lighting ceremony and the opportunity to place a dedication on the Tree of Light.
Vanessa James, head of support services at Sidmouth Hospice at Home, said: "Christmas can be a really challenging time for those that are grieving, and whilst it has a festive theme including carols and readings, previous attendees say they felt both comforted and a real sense of connection.
"During the service, the congregation is invited to light a candle in memory of loved ones and to also complete a dedication card which they can then add to our Christmas Tree of Light."
She added: "It’s set to be a very poignant service, and we are delighted to be hosting this special event with Sidmouth Parish Church, once again.
"We would also like to express our sincere thanks to both Northcott Brothers & King's Garden Centre, Sidmouth, for their ongoing support of our charity hospice service and for their kind contributions towards this particular event."
The church will open at 3pm for a period of quiet reflection before the service begins at 4.15pm.
Sidmouth Hospice at Home's specialist bereavement volunteers will be present throughout the event to offer support.
They will be identifiable by their light blue ribbon pins.
Attendees are invited to join the hospice for festive refreshments after the service.
Dedication cards will be available at the church on the day, and can also be collected ahead of the service from the Sidmouth Hospice at Home Information Hub at 48 High Street, Sidmouth.
The hub is open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm.
People who have bauble decorations from previous services are welcome to add these to the tree again this year.
While tickets are not required, space will be limited by church capacity.
