We hear a lot about the costs of net zero, but very little about the costs of delaying progress to net zero.

Deloitte has been a highly respected business research group for nearly 200 years.

They have found that unchecked, climate change could cost the global economy $178 trillion over the next 50 years.

Not surprising when you look at the devastation wreaked by recent hurricanes in the US, wildfires in Portugal, and floods in Spain.

By contrast, Deloitte finds that the global economy could gain $43 trillion over the next five decades by rapidly accelerating the transition to net zero.

What about the UK?

In our present decade, another business research group predicts the UK government will spend $43.8 billion ( £34.1 billion) on dealing with the effects of all climate-caused natural disasters.

That’s almost as much as the UK spends annually on defence.

Once up, turbines and solar panels provide energy practically for free.

They pay us back for their construction over time.

Let’s be net zero heroes and get there as fast as we can; it’ll save us a fortune.
