Ottery Town Council says they were delighted with the response after plans were released to develop the town centre.
Those attending the event were able to view the initial design ideas for enhancing the town square, the Georgian triangle (the area around the church and memorial) as well as looking at ideas around enhancing the public realm and access to the town from Sainsbury’s car park.
A public consultation was held at the Town Council offices, and Ottery residents and business owners were able to learn more about the scheme.
Those who attended were able to speak to the Councillors and the team of consultants who have been working with the Council to develop the plans.

Councillor John Green – chair of the Environment, Local Development and Commerce Committee said: “It was very helpful to hear the thoughts, ideas and preferences from residents and business owners which will play a crucial role in shaping the vision for the town’s future.
"The feedback collected during the event is invaluable as the Council seeks to implement meaningful improvements that reflect the needs and desires of the community."
The information boards containing the proposals are available for viewing at the Council Offices from 10am to 1pm, Monday to Friday.
Further details can be found on the Council website. The closing date for feedback is 5pm on Tuesday November 19.
Residents who wish to help shape the town's future can also join the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group.
Kerry Kennell – Clerk for Ottery Town Council said: “The Council appreciates the active participation of the community and looks forward to continuing this collaborative effort in enhancing Ottery Town Centre.”
