Sidmouth BC has hosted its annual Outdoor Presentation Lunch celebrating the season's achievements.

Tony Broughton served as Master of Ceremonies and entertained attendees with his antics.

He successfully read out the winners and runners-up with minimal deviation.

Brenda Somerfield, the ladies' competition secretary, presented the Men's Trophies, while David Timms, the Men's competition secretary, awarded the Ladies Trophies.

Captain Mike Borst presented the Mixed Trophies.

The champions for the year were Jill Bishop for the Ladies, Alun Brown for the Men, and Jane Painter for the Mixed category.

They recently began their season with a significant victory in the Over 60's County Trophy League against Plymouth B.

Of the four rinks, both home rinks and one away rink won, with the second away rink just losing by a few shots.

The aggregate score was a remarkable Sidmouth 101, Plymouth 57.

At home, John Richards, Wilf Radburn, Phil Meadows, and skip Paul Irvine scored an impressive 35 - 9.

Another home rink, featuring Brian Deam, Allan Davis, Peter Mison, and skip Don Smith, recorded a superb score of 26 - 11.

Away, Tony Broughton, David Cockburn, John Chew, and skip John Mason achieved a great score of 24 - 15.

The scoring in this league awards 3 points for each winning rink, 8 points for an overall win, 1 point for a win of over 10 shots, and 2 points for a win of over 20 shots.

Sidmouth scored a total of 19 points in the match.

In another competition, Sidmouth Ladies competed in the National Mason's Trophy Knockout Competition against Kingsley, Westward Ho.

The aggregate score was Sidmouth 36, Kingsley 34, with close calls on both rinks.

Their next opponent will be Exonia.
