Are you a lover of visual storytelling, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of the world through a lens? This autumn, Sidmouth Photographic Club is holding its first public Exhibition since celebrating its 80th Anniversary in 2017, and the club is excited to be able to share the work of their talented photographers with the local community.
This year's week-long exhibition features eighty framed prints, showcasing a variety of genres ranging from awe-inspiring landscapes and wildlife shots to urban street scenes and creative abstracts. Each tells its own story, reflecting the unique perspectives and artistic flair of club members. Alongside the prints, a digital presentation will display award-winning images from the club’s successful 23/24 season Competition League.
Teams of the club’s members are already hard at work behind the scenes - printing, mounting, framing, and curating the entries to create an engaging event that brings their photography to life in a feast for the eyes!
Doors open to the public on Tuesday 19th November, in the Amyatt Rooms at Kennaway House in Sidmouth town centre and a small team of club members will be on hand each day between 10am and 5pm to welcome the public to this free-to-enter exhibition. Hence visitors will have the chance to meet the photographers, ask questions about their techniques, and learn more about the inspiration behind each shot - there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
And if you’re a budding photographer or someone looking for a dose of creative inspiration, this exhibition is the perfect place to spark your passion. Sidmouth Photographic Club is always welcoming new members, and this event provides a great opportunity to learn about the club, its people and its varied activities.
