I am writing to thank all the people in the Byes on Wednesday morning (16th Oct) who helped me.

My dog Hector slipped on the bank and fell into the Sid, which was in spate.

I went in to rescue him, grabbed him in my arms but then couldn't get out of the river.

A lifeguard called Tony was out jogging.

He went into the river and guided me across to the opposite bank.

He pushed me up the bank and more people hauled me onto the path.

A kind man took Hector to the vet nearby.

A lady called Mary saw me fall in and called an ambulance, which luckily was not needed as I only had a few scratches.

I would like to thank Tony for saving my life.

Unfortunately, Hector did not make it.
