A nursing home has been recognised for its excellent end-of-life care.

Sidmouth Nursing Home was awarded the National Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award at the GSF annual conference and awards ceremony.

The event, which took place on September 27 at BMA House in London, celebrates the UK's exceptional health and social care providers for care in the final year of life.

Sidmouth Nursing Home was one of 140 organisations from across the country to receive the award, including 98 care homes, one primary care team, five domiciliary care agencies, eight retirement villages, one prison healthcare team, and 27 hospital wards.

Manager Sherin John said: "We are deeply honoured and humbled to receive the Gold Standard Framework Award for the second time.

"This recognition reflects the hard work, commitment, and compassion of the whole team who has been part of this journey.

"The Gold Standard Framework represents excellence in care, particularly in how we approach the end of life with dignity, respect, and support.

"This award is a testament to the teamwork, dedication, and shared vision that has guided us in improving the quality of life for the people we serve."
