A tree has been planted to honour a late councillor.
On Sunday, a Japanese Maple tree was planted in Knowle Gardens to honour John Dyson, who died earlier this year.
The tribute was organised by Sidmouth Arboretum, Sidmouth Town Council, and Friends of the Knowle.
Councillor Kelvin Dent praised Mr Dyson for his service to East Devon District Council, Sidmouth Town Council, and various local organisations, including the Folk Festival and Walking Festival.
He also highlighted Mr Dyson's role in establishing the Sidmouth Arboretum and the Hopper Bus service.
Mr Dyson's family participated in the tree planting ceremony.
Friends of the Knowle meet on the second and fourth Friday of each month, welcoming volunteers to help maintain Knowle Gardens.
