Check out what events are happening in Sidmouth this weekend, and into the early part of next week.

This events listing, provided by Sidmouth Town Council offices are from Saturday September 28 until Saturday October 5. This list also features weekly in the Sidmouth Herald newspaper.

The main event on Saturday, is of course, the carnival which begins from 7.30pm tonight (Saturday September 28).

Other events include the fundraising events leading up to carnival night, and Sidmouth Science Festival which begins next Friday (October 5).

  • SIDMOUTH CARNIVAL WEEK – VIRTUAL DOG SHOW: purchase a programme to enter - £1 from the Post Office, Gliddons Cookware, Tourist Information Centre, Toffee Nosed, Woolbrook News or Wag & Bone, Sidbury.
  • SID VALE CARNIVAL CLUB BREAKFAST COFFEE MORNING:  Sidford Social Hall, Sidford. 9am. In aid of funds.

  • SIDMOUTH ILLUMINATED CARNIVAL: floats and walking groups leave Woolbrook 7.30pm and process into town. The procession will start at Woolbrook, head along Temple Street and through town finishing at the seafront.

  • HARVEST THANKSGIVING SERVICE: St Mary and St Peter Salcombe Regis. 9.15-10.15am.
  • Supporting the Sid Valley Foodbank (http://www.sidvalleyfoodbank.org.uk) so donations of non-perishable produce welcome (Pasta Sauce, Fruit Juice, Tinned Vegetables, Tinned Meat, Savoury Rice, Savoury Noodles).
