It was the last day of cover for Sidmouth Lifeguard on Tuesday (September 10).
Cover began during May Half Term this year (Saturday May 25) until Sunday 2nd June. There will then be weekend cover until 20th July. Full-time service was provided from 20th July until Sunday 8th September.
This was the fourth year of service, where four lifeguards from last year came back, together with five new recruits for this season.
As well as being fully qualified beach lifeguards, the team will complete additional first aid training, and take part in exercises and training with other agencies over the summer, including Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat, South Western Ambulance Service and the coastguard.
The team also provided sea safety talks at all local schools. Kings Garden Centre will store the lifeguard container during the winter months.
Guy, from Jurassic Paddle Sports said: "Always a sad day to see these guys finish and see the lifeguard service go.
"Been an honour to work with such a great group of people. Thank you guys - I will miss seeing you daily and very special thanks to our very own sidmouth independent lifeboat for providing such an amazing service."
